Here are some of the most impactful things (according to medical experts) that you can do right now to live longer and healthier:

  1. Exercise. Only 20 minutes a day improves muscle strength, boosts endurance and delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues.
  2. Eat more living (plant) foods both veggie and fruits. Living > processed always.
  3. Drink coffee and/or wine. Both have antioxidants, boost the immune system and help prevent certain diseases.
  4. Eat healthy fats like nuts, avocado, coconut oils, fish omegas, chia seeds and flax. They’re essential for energy, building healthy cells, regulating hormones, and for the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.
  5. Don’t smoke. There’s not even one good health benefit to smoking.
  6. Build Community. Social connection is linked to positive emotions and many health benefits plus it’s (proven) good for your mind, body and heart.
  7. Sleep. Seven or more quality hours of sleep a night is required to function at 100%. Less decreases the immune system, energy levels, cognitive function and can lead to many health problems.
  8.  Workout your brain. Daily mental stimulation like learning new things and expanding one’s knowledge reduces risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s significantly.
  9. Brush, floss and visit your dentist regularly. Every tooth is linked to an organ in the body. And the bacteria that builds up from lack of brushing and/or flossing can leak into your circulatory system.
  10. Think happy. A positive outlook on life in general has been shown to increase lifespan and to help lower inflammation.
