Our inaugural tea for the Las Vegas network on April 11th included a gorgeous private club setting and a presentation by Lauriann Delay, Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager for Morgan Stanley followed by a lively discussion.

With all of the internet chatter we hear these days, it’s hard to focus on what is “real” and what is “important”. We have been hearing things like…buy gold and precious metals, move your investment portfolio to cash, the market is going to crash, what the next President will do to our economy, who is going to be elected President in 2017. What does a Boomer+ investor do with all of this information? It has never been a better time to have a network of people and advisors that you can trust when it comes to financial advice.

Lauriann shared a recent market survey showing more than 70% of us fear out-living our assets as opposed to only 30% fear dying.

Our life expectancy is growing and causing the need for our assets to last longer than we may have originally planned. How long should we be planning for? Statistics are saying 86 for women and 71 for men. Have you realigned your investment strategy to match your life expectancy?

This website has a fun calculator to predict how many years we can plan for.

If I’m expected to live to be 100 and I only planned my assets to last until 85, what should I do now to change my investment strategies? Lauriann shared ways to review and structure your portfolio with diversification to weather market fluctuation while still experiencing reliable returns. Most importantly, it’s important to have an investment plan and work your plan.
